The face unlock made a debut in the OnePlus family from the OnePlus 5T and soon the update was rolled out to OnePlus 5 as well. The company has now announced that the face unlock update will also reach the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users.
Carl Pei, Director of OnePlus has given a statement that the future open beta update will be rolled out to the OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones. He had spoken about this topic last year in December and since then we had not heard any news regarding the face unlock.
Earlier OnePlus had promised, that they will roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo version to the OnePlus 5 devices. They wanted the update to come before the end of 2017 but due to some unspecified bug, the rollout was stopped.
But the company has started the OxygenOS 5.0.1 rollout to the users of the OnePlus 5. It would be important to mention that this update has arrived as a solution to the earlier one's bugs. Along with the Oreo features, the phones will be updated to the December 2017 security patch and a new camera UI.
