Sunny Leone horse-rides her way down South with big-budget war film

Sunny Leone made a mark in Bollywood even before her first film, Jism 2, could hit the screens. Thanks to her popularity as a porn star, who became a household name in the country after she participated in Bigg Boss, almost everyone got to know about Leone before her big Bollywood debut took place.

That 2012 film might have sunk without a trace, but that hasn't stopped Leone from trying her hand at Hindi films.

Since Jism 2, Sunny has worked in several films; some, where she was required to act; and others, where just a special song featuring her raised the stakes of the film higher.

Now, Sunny is all set to take the plunge in films down South. The Indo-Canadian porn star-turned-actress will soon be seen in a Tamil film, that is to be simultaneously made in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, apart from Tamil.

Leone has already signed the film, a period film with war among its main themes. The yet-untitled film is being directed by VC Vadivudaiyan and produced by Ponse Stephen.

Sunny Leone said about her foray into films down South, "After this movie, I am sure my image will change completely. I have always liked doing action sequences. I was waiting for a script like this for years. I started preparing for this movie the minute director VC Vadivudayan narrated the script to me. I have a special love for south India, so I am very happy to do a Tamil movie. I have a lot of my fans in south India, especially Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala."

Based on the cultures of South India, the film is being made on a lavish budget. Leone is all geared up to learn sword-fighting, horse-riding and other stunts. A special trainer from Andhra Pradesh has been deputed to fly to Mumbai and coach Sunny in these stunts.

The Ek Paheli Leela star has earmarked 150 days for this film.

Around 70 minutes of the film are said to be C-G driven. The companies that worked on the C-G for Baahubali and 2.0, have been roped in for this film.

Nasser and Navdeep play important roles in the film. The makers are yet to zero in on a male lead opposite Sunny.

The shoot will start from February 2018.

On the work front, Sunny was last seen in the film Tera Intezaar alongside Arbaaz Khan. The film opened to a tragically low response at the box office.
